On Sunday, 15 October, the Latvian Youth Championship in 100-payline rapid draughts took place at the Radisson Blue Daugava Hotel. The tournaments were played separately for girls and boys in each age group (except for the U16 group, where girls and boys played in a common tournament) with time control of 5 minutes + 3 seconds per game for each move made.
In the U8 girls group, Rebecca Rīna won the first place and the gold medal by defeating all her opponents and scoring 20 points. Anna Biruma won second place and the silver medal with 18 points, while Marlena Gudēvica Liepiņa won third place and the bronze medal with 14 points.
In the U8 boys’ group, Ernests Andersons won the first place and the gold medal with 21 points. Nils Panko came second and won the silver medal, while Pauls Panko came third and won the bronze medal with 16 points.
In the U10 girls group, Alise Misāne won first place and the gold medal with 21 points. With 17 points, Varvara Ivanova came second and won the silver medal, while Anna Lebedinskaya came third and won the bronze medal, also with 17 points.
In the U10 boys’ group, Maksims Novickis won first place and the gold medal with 17 points. Also scoring 17 points, Daniel Sokol came second and received the silver medal, while Tom Anderson came third and won the bronze medal with 16 points.
In the U13 girls’ group, Malvīne Misāne won first place and the gold medal with 19 points. Milana Fideline won the same number of points, but with additional scores, came second and received the silver medal, while Evelina Orlovska came third and won the bronze medal with 16 points.
In the U13 boys group, Ilya Trasko won the gold medal and the title of champion with 20 points, Nikita Vorotnikov came second and won the silver medal with 18 points, and Ernest Kalnins came third and won the bronze medal with 17 points.
In the U16 girls’ group, Alisa Orlova won first place and the gold medal with 17 points. Darya Drabova won second place and the silver medal with 14 points, and Polina Gerasimova won third place and the bronze medal with 12 points.
In the U16 boys’ group, the gold medal and the championship title went to Pēteris Kripans with 19 points. Second place and the silver medal went to Roberts Serpāns, with 15 points, and third place and the bronze medal to Evert Rūdolfs Lepsis, who also won 15 points.
In the U19 age group for juniors Barbara Graudiņa unexpectedly won the Latvian championship with 7 points. Diana Malofei scored the same points and was awarded the vice-champion title and silver medal with additional scores. One point less and bronze for Elisabeth Kolbase.
In the U19 age group for juniors, Kristers Lapiņš became the Latvian champion by scoring 8 points. Reinis Štāls won the silver medal with 7 points. Also scoring 7 points, the bronze medal went to Klāvs Norenbergs.
